In the autumn of 2017, nearly two hundred years following publication of William Cobbett’s Rural Rides, I set off on a motorcycle, visiting the twelve regions of the United Kingdom in the British Isles, trying to come to terms with the peril humanity is in, as well as with my own situation. In a thirteen part podcast series, and forthcoming eBook, I use the sights and sounds, events, meetings, and chance encounters of thirty-six Regional Rides to illustrate my own view, backed by a selection of popular and scientific literature, as to where we are, where we need to get to (and why), and how we can get there.
