In the summer of 2019, I published the first draft of a proposal for a new sort of educational institution aimed at improving the public understanding of the Earth System, the Human System, and their interaction.

The vision is for an Earth Centre to be constituted in each locality – constituted as local, independent, social enterprises, drawing on local staff and resources, and primarily serving local schoolchildren at various stages, and residents in general.

An advisory board has been established, and discussions have just commenced with BANES, the first local authority to express an interest.
