Morning

Up 08 30. Disturbed in night by raised voices outside. Congestion.

Breakfast : orange juice; coffee; muesli (dairy). Clarence House staff given redundancy notices. Received notification from Bathnes Council regarding anti-idling officer job.

Went to charity shop on London Road via Hedgemead Park where bottom entrance now open after storm damage a year ago. Bought 14 year old flatscreen TV (£35) and DVD player. Looked for and failed find SCART lead; offered same (for free, collect Saturday) by member staff in Richer Sounds. Funeral proceedings discussed in charity shop : mostly positive stances from older staff member who said liked pageantry and said Royal Family – and funeral – brought money into country; and retired Aussie soldier who recalled meeting the deceased at a parade in Australia. Said I could understand some reactions but struggled with e.g. what was done to Gough Whitlam government. ‘I don’t know what that was about.’ Carried set home. Neighbour complaining to scaffolder about scaffolding obstructing her garage alone.

Afternoon

Continued looking for SCART and ate outside at Thoughtful Bakery.

Lunch : croque monsieur. Bread at TB first rate. This dish and environs – bins and parked cars – not of same standard.

Tea : black tea. Watched Not the Andrew Marr Show discussion on EiE campaign.

Worked on CSR, trying to position TV. Shopped in Waitrose for food.

Evening

Supper : venison burgers in a bun; salad; ice-cream.

Thought about life.

Online before turning in.
