Morning

Up 08 30. Disturbed 04 45 by what sounded like impact on bathroom window. Difficult dreams. Congestion.

Breakfast : orange juice; coffee; muesli (almond milk). Rent freeze announced in Scotland. Spoke friend.

Went to bathroom and showered. Scaffolding contractors rang at door asking whether knew how move cars on forecourt.

Worked on LFE.

Elevenses : coffee.

Shopped for food, buying reduced beef burgers and apple juice. Saw postman, wishing well with strike, saying encouraging for me and others, and discussing general political situation.

Afternoon

Lunch : beefburgers in a bun; salad. Spoke friend. Scaffolders outside window warned me about proximity of end of lateral to kitchen window pane. Tied handle to tap to restrict opening.

Siesta.

Tea : plums; black tea.

Worked on LFE. Went to Waitrose, remembering needed shower gel. Crossed Julian Road as car approached from main road, beating motorist to it. ‘Very dangerous. Fucking stupid,’ said the passenger. Had nothing to add.

Evening

Supper : burger in a bun; fries.

Worked on LFE. Smoke in studio.
