Wednesday 3rd August 2022

Morning

Up 08 30. Difficult dreams. Congested; sore throat; cough.

Breakfast : orange juice; coffee; muesli (dairy milk). Heatwave due France this week again. Flooding in US. President Higgins (Ireland) : ‘Housing and the basic needs of society should never have been left to the marketplace.’ Speaker Pelosi barely coherent in Taiwan speech.

Did dishes and went bathroom.

Published TNS.

Elevenses : coffee. Bath Trades Union Council event featuring RMT organisers 18 August. Voted for Elections Coordinator (GPEx) on strength of statements, videos, and odd remark on Twitter feed.

Continued publishing TNS.

Went to Waitrose for food. Somewhat light headed. Brief conversation with friends of yore parked on single yellow in electric SUV. I remarked upon Conservative Party leadership campaign saying made little difference who prevailed and said encouraged that working class seemed be waking up to its power. ‘You always think revolution is round the corner.’ This is not so; it is true though that I have argued a revolution in institutional and physical architecture is required and personally tried to get people to do something to make it happen, many of whom have declined to date. ‘I prefer Sunak,” he said. Staff member in Waitrose said she hated Bath : too many tourists. Saw former neighbour on way back to studio who said it had only been two months or so that she had felt normal self following COVID-19 infection in 2020.

Afternoon

Lunch : tortilla; guacamole.

Siesta.

Continued publishing TNS. Off to Waitrose again for another packet tortilla as insufficient left over from lunch.

Evening

Supper : tortilla; guacamole; ice cream. Footage Christians for Climate Action outside Lambeth Palace (I presume) during annual Lambeth Conference. People apparently started posting new energy bills online for public consumption : e.g. £1667.94 pcm (British Gas).

Felt out of sorts – possibly food related.

Online before turning in.
