Morning

Up 09 00. Woken at 00:45 by sawing outside, followed by what must have been automatic screwdriving which assumed to do with broken glass yesterday.

Breakfast : half an orange; coffee; muesli. Shut window due to idling delivery driver.

Worked on website.

Elevenses : coffee; madeleines. Did dishes and went to bathroom.

Continued working as above.

Afternoon

Lunch : toad in the hole. Swifts at rear of building.

Went for walk into town, which was busy, visiting river and Waitrose. Tempted to buy reduced gammon steak but refrained. Saw acquaintance discussing politics – said term ‘syndrome’ perhaps applies to people’s behaviour; he spoke about differences between Kerala region and rest of India. Discussed Jubilee with staff member who spoke about William the Conqueror.

Worked on website. PC hung; seems to have become more unstable.

Evening

Walked to Sainsburys for food buying eggs. Greeted man on street first met his first night sleeping rough best part decade ago.

Supper : Herb omelette. Smoke in studio.
