Morning

Up 08 30. Did the dishes. Breakfast : orange juice; coffee; muesli. Loo.

Sent some Easter Greetings (sent some ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life’ from Life of Brian); two friends with a Catholic education told me ‘Happy Easter’ was for Sunday.

Had another go at eyebrows and trimmed beard. Went to try foil again for a shave but thought better of it after trimming head refused part company with device. So much for the ten heads it came with.

Slight chest pain (LHS) : something haven’t felt since January or February when I decided to step back from organising for a time to focus on health and livelihood.

Forwarded updated flyer for forthcoming May Day rally to BathNES Green Party with a reminder of invitation to Bath Trades Council May Day event at the Bell.

Checked balance in Waitrose and stopped at delicatessen for long coffee in sunshine.

Elevenses : coffee; cannoli.

Visited charity shop on London Road. Rather nice cabinet amongst reductions for Easter. Man holding forth as I left comparing the behaviour of motorcyclists (good, he thought) and cyclists (not so good). I said wouldn’t be taking anything for the moment to a staff member. ‘He who hesitates is lost,’ he said. ‘He who hesitates has no money,’ I said.

Dropped into shop on way home; owner spoke about increasing censorship on some of the principal online platforms.

Afternoon

Lunch : sausages and mash.

Worked on Letter from England.

Tea : banana; nuts; black tea.

Produced weekly progress report and sent to EA and WC.

Went to the Bell with a friend.

Evening

Went to Beckford Bottle Shop with friend for an aperitif (courtesy friend).

Watched Don’t Look Up at friend’s apartment.

Supper : tortelloni (courtesy friend).

Home to bed.
