THE EDUCATION OF AN ENGLISHMAN

IN THE PIPELINE Education is a concept for another multimedia series, and perhaps a book manuscript. Building on the work of writers like Christopher Hampton (A Radical Reader) and Chris Harman (A People’s History of the World), I would like to try to give an account of our history that charts both the changing institutional and physical structure of the human system and developments in our thinking about how we are and should be organised, and at once familiarises the listener/reader directly with some of the major contributions in the English canon in politics, science, social science, history, drama, literature, music, and more. It is on the drawing board for the moment.
