Listed here is a handful of the more relevant talks and other forms of public speaking I have done in more recent years.
Two come from work in political and judicial settings : namely, an address to a full council and public gallery in Bath’s Guildhall, seat of Bath and North East Somerset, my local authority, speaking for a motion to declare a climate emergency in 2019; and my testimony in the dock at the City of London Magistrates’ Court in the winter of that year, during the trial of a number of defendants, including myself, for public order offences relating to Extinction Rebellion’s International Rebellion in the spring. Extinction Rebellion is an institution organising individuals seeking government action on the climate and ecological emergency.
Two are presentations to more intimate, academic or intellectual audiences : one, given to a group of staff and doctoral students in the School of Social and Policy Sciences at the University of Bath; and the other, more light hearted, to the Business and Economics Group at Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution.
More detail will be offered in due course.
